CHANGE OF SEASONS - Gorgeous by design, these 1 1/4-inch brocade suspenders depict the four seasons in French--automne, hiver, printemps, & été.  The brocade, woven in America in the late 1960s, detail a beautiful woman adorned with seasonal flora, set on a background of the perfect shade between grey & tan. Perfect for your formal engagements, these suspenders are crafted with an X-back with black leather crosspatch and lower elastic for a modest amount of give. Polished nickel size adjusters allow for tweaking to the perfect size on these 46-inch long drop-clip suspenders. Also offered in a runner end version, these formal braces have limited availability.

Suspender sizes indicate the length of the suspender straps in inches from the end of the attachment point in the front past the cross patch on the back to the tip of the attachment point on the back.

How to Measure

The most accurate way to determine the correct suspender size is to use a tape measure on the person who will be wearing the suspenders as shown in the image below:

Once you have this measurement, round up to the next size suspender, since the suspender size indicates the length of the straps fully extended and the suspenders can be shortened, not lengthened.

Note: If the measurement is very close to a suspender size and you prefer the adjusters to fall high on the torso, order the next size up. For example, if you measure 41 inches, the adjusters on a 42-inch suspender will fall about 1 inch above the waistband of the pants or skirt, whereas those of a 48-inch suspender will fall about 7 inches above the waistband. This is simply a matter of personal preference.
