Nautical in look and feel but embarking on an entirely new direction from the traditional Breton navy and white stripes, these red and navy blue equal stripes suspenders are offer a contemporary interpretation of the time-honored stripe classic. Featuring alternating equal width stripes in red and navy blue, these 1 3/8 inch wide Y-back braces are convertible - meaning you can wear them as either clip-on or button-on suspenders. The barathea fabric is a non-stretch, woven material with a pebble-like finish that broadcasts a refined and upscale look. This stylish look is completed with high quality nickel hardware, supple goat skin leather accents and navy blue elastic below the crosspatch to provide a flexible and comfortable fit. Suspender sizes indicate the length of the suspender straps in inches from the end of the attachment point in the front past the cross patch on the back to the tip of the attachment point on the back.

How to Measure

The most accurate way to determine the correct suspender size is to use a tape measure on the person who will be wearing the suspenders as shown in the image below:

Once you have this measurement, round up to the next size suspender, since the suspender size indicates the length of the straps fully extended and the suspenders can be shortened, not lengthened.

Note: If the measurement is very close to a suspender size and you prefer the adjusters to fall high on the torso, order the next size up. For example, if you measure 41 inches, the adjusters on a 42-inch suspender will fall about 1 inch above the waistband of the pants or skirt, whereas those of a 48-inch suspender will fall about 7 inches above the waistband. This is simply a matter of personal preference.
