For anyone to whom that phrase is a clarion call, Racing Checks Suspenders available at SuspenderStore enable auto racing fans to keep their passion for the sport close at hand even when they're dressing up. These 1.5-inch wide X-back suspenders are black and white with a dressy finger clip and are available in 42-inch, 48-inch and 54-inch lengths. They have an X-back and are fully elastic.

Suspender sizes indicate the length of the suspender straps in inches from the end of the attachment point in the front past the cross patch on the back to the tip of the attachment point on the back.

How to Measure

The most accurate way to determine the correct suspender size is to use a tape measure on the person who will be wearing the suspenders as shown in the image below:

Once you have this measurement, round up to the next size suspender, since the suspender size indicates the length of the straps fully extended and the suspenders can be shortened, not lengthened.

Note: If the measurement is very close to a suspender size and you prefer the adjusters to fall high on the torso, order the next size up. For example, if you measure 41 inches, the adjusters on a 42-inch suspender will fall about 1 inch above the waistband of the pants or skirt, whereas those of a 48-inch suspender will fall about 7 inches above the waistband. This is simply a matter of personal preference.
