PHOTOS CAN'T DO JUSTICE - These exquisite suspenders are designed by the world's oldest brace maker, Albert Thurston. This non-repeating design features the whole of Cherubino’s aria ‘Voi che sapete’ from Mozart’s ‘The Marriage of Figaro’ on handwoven silvery-grey silk, backed with soft black Melton wool. Made in England, these 1 5/8-inch wide braces are trimmed with black calf leather & polished nickel toned brass fittings. The Y-back has a leather crosspatch and lower elastic for a bit of stretch, and black buttons are included. Offered in a 46-inch length, these come with an individually numbered limited edition tag, being just one of 500 of this design offered worldwide. Made in England.

Suspender sizes indicate the length of the suspender straps in inches from the end of the attachment point in the front past the cross patch on the back to the tip of the attachment point on the back.

How to Measure

The most accurate way to determine the correct suspender size is to use a tape measure on the person who will be wearing the suspenders as shown in the image below:

Once you have this measurement, round up to the next size suspender, since the suspender size indicates the length of the straps fully extended and the suspenders can be shortened, not lengthened.

Note: If the measurement is very close to a suspender size and you prefer the adjusters to fall high on the torso, order the next size up. For example, if you measure 41 inches, the adjusters on a 42-inch suspender will fall about 1 inch above the waistband of the pants or skirt, whereas those of a 48-inch suspender will fall about 7 inches above the waistband. This is simply a matter of personal preference.
