TAKE A PAGE FROM THIS BOOK - Fashionably crafted of 1 5/8-inch wide handwoven silk, these chocolate brown suspenders are lined with books, candles and reading glasses based on an original hand drawing by Monika Slivkova. Limited to just 500 pieces, these braces are 46-inches long & made with a Y-back with brown leather and lower elastic for a touch of stretch. Polished nickel-finish brass size adjusters allow for fine-tuning the fit, and cream runner end attachments come with buttons for the ultimate convenience. Made in England by Albert Thurston, a premier brace maker for over 200 years.

Suspender sizes indicate the length of the suspender straps in inches from the end of the attachment point in the front past the cross patch on the back to the tip of the attachment point on the back.

How to Measure

The most accurate way to determine the correct suspender size is to use a tape measure on the person who will be wearing the suspenders as shown in the image below:

Once you have this measurement, round up to the next size suspender, since the suspender size indicates the length of the straps fully extended and the suspenders can be shortened, not lengthened.

Note: If the measurement is very close to a suspender size and you prefer the adjusters to fall high on the torso, order the next size up. For example, if you measure 41 inches, the adjusters on a 42-inch suspender will fall about 1 inch above the waistband of the pants or skirt, whereas those of a 48-inch suspender will fall about 7 inches above the waistband. This is simply a matter of personal preference.
