THE EASE OF TRIGGER SNAPS! Have you heard that some suspenders are made with snaps? It's true, but these suspender snaps are not the same kind of snaps that are found on clothing. Our trigger snap suspenders have a particular type of suspender clip attachment: they feature a closure mechanism that you press to open.

When you want to affix the snap-on suspenders to your pants, you simply release the "trigger" on the clip, and it automatically snaps into place. Trigger snaps - sometimes also referred to as scissor clips - have a noticeably different look than other suspender attachments, and you may find that you really enjoy their uniqueness.Â Another reason to choose suspenders with this clip type is that they easily attach to the belt loops on your pants. They feature two front snaps & one back snap. All three trigger snaps provide a strong hold for keeping your pants up, and the look of their gleaming nickel finish is pretty cool, too.

Please note: Most folks prefer these Y-back trigger snap suspenders because pants usually have a center belt loop in the back where the suspenders attach. However, if you have a pair of pants with two belt loops on either side of the center, then you might prefer X-back trigger snap suspenders.

Suspender sizes indicate the length of the suspender straps in inches from the end of the attachment point in the front past the cross patch on the back to the tip of the attachment point on the back.

How to Measure

The most accurate way to determine the correct suspender size is to use a tape measure on the person who will be wearing the suspenders as shown in the image below:

Once you have this measurement, round up to the next size suspender, since the suspender size indicates the length of the straps fully extended and the suspenders can be shortened, not lengthened.

Note: If the measurement is very close to a suspender size and you prefer the adjusters to fall high on the torso, order the next size up. For example, if you measure 41 inches, the adjusters on a 42-inch suspender will fall about 1 inch above the waistband of the pants or skirt, whereas those of a 48-inch suspender will fall about 7 inches above the waistband. This is simply a matter of personal preference.
